How do I work out which size?

To work out what size you require you will need to measure the diameter of the sub-platter. The sub-platter is the cylindrical section on the underside of the platter that the belt goes around.

On some turntables it is a separate item and the platter lifts off it. With many turntables it is like this photo where there is a raised cylinder on the underside of the platter. You'll need to lift the platter off and turn it over. To select the correct size belt measure the diameter (the distance across not around) the sub-platter. This will usually be in the range 140mm to 210mm. Then choose the belt size just below the measurement. eg if the diameter is 198mm, choose a 195mm belt.

Replacement Styli

Need a new stylus (needle) for your old turntable? We stock and source a variety of different styli to attach to different cartridges for older models of turntables.

To ensure we get you the right replacement stylus follow these easy steps,

• Find the model number/type of your turntable, if the original cartridge is still attached we can find the correct replacement stylus
• There may also be a stylus code either written on the cartridge itself or in the user manual of your turntable, eg D334SR, just quote this code and we can find you the stylus!
• If you're unable to find anything listed on your turntable you can send through some photos of your cartridge and stylus to urbanrec@bigpond.net.au and our friendly staff will find it for you!
• Some styli are becoming increasingly hard to find, or are out of production. If this is the case our friendly staff can install and fit a new cartridge & stylus to your existing turntable which is easily accessible and replaceable.
